Sage CRE has several reporting tools and options available to extract and analyze data. Because good data makes for good decisions.

Report Designer module

The RD module is one of the optional modules that can be part of your Sage CRE configuration. It is the original CRE reporting tool, and some say the best.

Pros 

  • RD is a robust report creation program that automatically links tables 
  • CRE tables and fields are in a logical and easy to read language
  • Reports are fast to run and can be exported to excel if created in a column format
  • Extensive user guide available within the module

Cons

  • RD can’t handle subreports and complex data links
  • Drill-down reporting not available
  • Limited formatting options, no graphs, logos, or pictures

Financial Statement Designer module

THE FS module couples with the GL module to create financial statements and is perfect for users who want to create their own financial and budget reports.

Pros 

  • Easy to learn and use
  • Reports are fast to run and quick to generate
  • Users can export data to excel if the information is created in a column format
  • A standard set of financial reports come with the module

Cons

  • Reports on GL totals only – no transactional reporting
  • Limited formatting and graphics

Crystal Reports

SAP Crystal reports are a highly flexible report design platform that uses an ODBC link to access Sage CRE data.

Pros 

  • A powerful program that can create any report with almost unlimited flexibility
  • Fantastic formatting options, graphics, pictures, and charts make for presentation perfect reports.
  • Drill downs, hyperlinks, export, share…. too many features to list
  • Report run from any Reports menu from within Sage CRE
  • Can merge multiple Sage CRE data folders

Cons

  • A sophisticated product that requires a knowledge of CRE table structures
  • Best for the advanced user with a flair for programming

Office Connector

Office Connector is excel based reporting for Sage CRE and, like Crystal Reports, uses an ODBC connection to access data.

Pros

  • Reports in excel format – what’s not to love about that
  • Generate reports quickly to extract live data without taking up a CRE module license
  • Design using excel to create professional-looking documents
  • Import data back into Sage CRE with Office Connector Import
  • Comes with several pre-built templates to use straight away
  • Easy to learn for users to create highly customized templates

Cons

  • Solid knowledge of excel is an advantage.

Solver

Solver is cloud reporting at a whole new level

Pros

  • Combine and consolidate data from different programs and databases to create reports in excel format

  • Online portal means reports are available from anywhere anytime
